How I Found My Next Path Forward

Updated: Aug 11, 2022

After spending 9 years in the insurance and the finance sector, I was now at a crossroads in my life. I had taken a career break to pursue a master’s in one year and mid-year through the year. I thought about what the next chapter of my life will be. The thought started before that. However, as the year went on, it bugged me more and more. What I’m I going to do next? How can I use the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the last 9 years going forwards? I spent some time self-reflecting on my life and my path from now on. Prior to deciding to go back to school, I wanted to achieve 2 things in my professional life. Have a successful business and have a successful career. My wife and I had already started a business in which she primarily did most of the work. I was struggling to figure out how I would contribute to the business. What would be my role?

One day I was having a discussion with my wife, and she ask me what I thought about financial coaching. Instantly, a light bulb went off in my head. That was the answer to the questions I’ve been asking myself all along. Suddenly, one of my questions about my professional life got answered. This is how I can add value to the business and how I can put my knowledge and experience to good use. I am pumped and fired up about this new journey and how I can help people. Now all that’s left is the answer to the other question.
